Falcon Frenzy 2019

Welcome to the one-stop shop for everything regarding the upcoming Falcon Frenzy!

When is it?

October 10th 25th, 2019 (Postponed due to snow)

The run portion will be 8:00 to 9:15am for middle school and 9:30 to 10:30 for elementary school.

The carnival will be from 12:30 to 2:20pm.

Pledges are due by Oct 8th.

How much?

Since this is our one major fundraiser of the year, we are collecting $20 from each student who would like to participate, but everyone can raise as much as they can. There will be prizes for the students who raise the most.

However, money will NEVER be a reason why someone cannot participate. All parents/students need to do is ask.

What do you get?

Every student will receive a Falcon Frenzy t-shirt that they will make in art class. Every student will also receive 2 carnival tickets (2 stamps on a wristband) for the paid activities and an otter pop.

Can adults get the cool t-shirts too?

Yes! Adult t-shirts can be ordered on the pledge form or purchased at the carnival for $10 each.

What about prizes?

The student (middle and elementary) who raises the highest amount of money gets a gift certificate to purchase a pair of sneakers ($100 value).

Top finishers in each race get swag bags.

A random student who submits the pledges will win a swag bag.

The class with the highest participation will get donuts and juice.

The class that raises the most money will get a pizza party.

What if a student doesn’t want to run?

Students can choose to not participate and instead make cards for veterans.

Students who choose not to run/walk will have the option of attending the carnival. They will receive 1 ticket for the carnival.

What will be at the carnival?

Free activities:

  • Playground
  • Carnival games
  • Graffiti box that can be a permanent art display
  • Otter pops for all students
  • Hula hoops and jump rope
  • Snowball fight

Paid activities (1 ticket each):

  • Pie in the face
  • Dunk tank
  • Bounce house
  • Cookies
  • Snow cones

Additional tickets can be purchased at $1. Students who raise $40 or more get unlimited activities.

Community and parents are invited to the carnival!

Moon Augmented Reality

This year will mark the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, so what better way to celebrate this historic event than to learn more about the moon with augmented reality? AstroReality is an app that uses augmented reality (scanning an object and providing feedback based on that object) to provide clickable links of images, historical and other data. You can get the whole solar system, but the 3D objects are expensive and the moon poster can be printed for FREE and even works if you scan it from a screen (don’t necessarily need to print). A tablet would be best because of the larger screen to see the information, but even a phone would work.
